Welcome to our festival!

Welcome to the Crystal Palace Children’s Book Festival 2010. This year we’re bigger and better, with a cracking line-up of the best children’s authors and illustrators.

The final line-up will be announced on 1 September, and free tickets will be available then, but for now, here’s a list of all the brilliant authors and illustrators taking part on 23 October:

Steve Feasey, Alexander Gordon Smith, Sam Enthoven, Alex Bell, Laura Dockrill, Tom Percival, Alex Milway, Ilya, Sarwat Chadda, Garen Ewing, The Etherington Brothers, Gary Northfield, Viviane Schwarz, Lerryn Korda, Karen Wall and Jim Helmore, Guy Bass, CT Furlong, Sarah McIntyre and Jon Mayhew.

Featured authors and illustrators

Gary Northfield

And next up in our festival interviews is the unstoppable Gary Northfield, creator of Derek the Sheep from the Beano. His specialities lie in drawing famous people from history, ducks, and farm animals, and making them hilariously funny. We asked him a few questions.

sarahmcintyre

If there’s one person who will always leave an impression, it’s Sarah McIntyre. Whether she’s drawing, dressed up as a space princess, or just passing by, you definitely can’t miss her. And neither should you, as she’s one of the most talented illustrators working today. We asked her a few questions…

News

We’ve received our first monster for the Monster Book, from none other than the fabulous Kate Brown. Known as @autojoy on twitter, Kate is the author of Spider Moon, the particularly beautiful DFC book.

As you can probably see, Kate’s drawn us a particularly impressive, and rather trendily dressed Goblin. We think it’s amazing! Thanks Kate!
